SUMMER CHANGES 2006

The long spell of hot summer weather inspired more work in the garden and two changes were made.

The Pond Surround

As the pond slabs were  beginning to crumble we decided to replace them with pebbles. I think we were pleased with the result and the table and chairs moved from another part of the garden adds to the 'Shirley Valentine' look.

Rehousing the auriculas

The second project was to move the auriculas from under the awning we'd had in previous years and to replace it with a greenhouse. Once again it wasn't a straightforward job - is it ever - as slabs had to be reset and some of the tree branches pruned.

The greenhouse was sited under the tree as it needed a cool shady area

Finally the hedge to the left of the greenhouse was removed and replanted elsewhere and perennials added to the border.

Lastly, following a sale we spotted on our travels ,we installed 3 more growhouses in the area in front of the shed.
