The borders

On moving in there were no borders-just conifer hedges - so the straight path was removed and curved borders were made. At first we had some heathers that didn't do too well, so they were replaced with shrubs - hebes, pyracantha, photinia, spirea, skimmia, weigela, choisya and broom, which all grew well.

And a year later ...............

we tried a few roses but they didn't get enough sun so they were moved across the garden - one side of the garden is always in the shade of the hedge.
