GARDEN VISITORS - SUMMER 2006

Feathered friends

In June a few hours were spent in the garden getting some shots of our most regular visitors. We also have blue tits, coal tits, magpies, wood- pigeons and the occasional sparrow hawk.

We are lucky to have had several birds nesting in and around the garden and have enjoyed watching them waiting to be fed . The starling chicks usually stand in the middle of the ground feeder waiting, with beaks open, for the parent bird to pick up a tasty morsel from next to their feet.

In previous years we have had robins nesting in the greenhouse and blackbirds in the growhouses, both using plant pots as nests
